Clinical Providers
Iris Y. Cruz, Ph.D.
Iris Y. Cruz, Ph.D., completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the University of Central Florida. In her current role as Assistant Director of the Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Programming Office, Dr. Cruz oversees clinical services provided to UCF students who are experiencing negative consequences associated with alcohol and/or other substance use. Additionally, Dr. Cruz is responsible for the clinical training and supervision of doctoral-level psychology students and counselor master’s-level students who provide evidence-based substance use intervention services, with a focus on overall health and lifestyle balance.
Danielle Lindner
Danielle is a third year student in the clinical psychology doctoral program at UCF where she conducts research in the area of body image. She has a strong interest in working with college-age students and began working at the Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Programming Office in the fall of 2009. Danielle currently serves as a clinical provider for both mandated and voluntary students.
Chasity Rivers
Chasity is a Masters of Arts Counselor Education Trainee who began working with the Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Program in August 2009. Currently, she is obtaining a masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She received her bachelors’ degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. In addition, she has worked with a wide range of populations including individuals, couples, and families. Upon graduation, she will meet the requirements to become a Certified Addictions and Mental Health Counselor.
Lindsay Scharfstein
Lindsay is a Clinical Psychology Doctoral student who began working at the Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Programming Office in 2009. She has experience with the study and treatment of anxiety disorders in young adults. Anxiety is often present in individuals who experience alcohol and/or substance abuse. Lindsay currently serves as a clinical provider for mandated and voluntary students.
Kimberly Barton
Kimberly is a Masters of Social Work student who began working with the Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Program in August 2009. Currently, she is obtaining a masters degree in Clinical Social Work. She received her bachelors’ degree in Social Work from Southern Adventist University. She has worked with individuals who experienced alcohol and/or substance abuse along with the homelessness. In the future, she hopes to work with the high school and college population.
