What We Do

Voluntary Services

REAL Assistance provides support services for UCF students who are experiencing social, psychological, and/or physical issues related to alcohol and other substance use. Students who present for substance use intervention services on a voluntary basis receive an initial screening followed by a substance abuse evaluation. Recommendations for services are based on assessed level of risk associated with a student’s alcohol and/or other substance use.

After assessment, students may be recommended for REAL Assistance brief intervention services. REAL Assistance brief intervention services aim to help students modify risk factors related to alcohol and other drugs and to foster the development of healthy coping skills. Students with serious or chronic problems with alcohol and other substances may be referred to either in-patient or outpatient treatment programs for intensive care.

In addition to alcohol and substance use services, this office is available to assist students with gambling and tobacco cessation.

To make an appointment for REAL Assistance, please call 407-823-0879 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
